If there is a check or ACH transaction you wish to have stopped, paperwork needs to be filled out at a branch location. If you have a payment you wish to stop that was done through our bill pay service, refer to the article in the Bill Pay section or contact Online Support at 636-537-4473 to discuss options for these types of payments.
- To stop a CHECK or series of checks:
- Visit your nearest branch, or complete the form located in online banking with the check number(s) you wish to place a stop on. The form can be found in your online banking under ADDITIONAL SERVICES > STOP PAYMENT ON A CHECK
- The fee for placing a stop on a check or series of checks is $25.00
- To stop a single ACH payment or recurring ACH payment:
- Visit your nearest branch with the amount of the ACH, and the company or merchant name who is pulling the funds
- If this is a fraudulent ACH transaction, meaning it was never authorized or the authorization was revoked and the merchant continues to pull, inform the branch representative so that a dispute may be filed along with the stop payment
- Stop payments placed on Single ACH payments may be effective for one month or forever unless the credit union receives written notification to revoke the stop payment
- Stop payments placed on Recurring ACH payments will remain in effect for 30 calendar days unless you submit written confirmation. You must sign the Permanent Revocation Statement in order for the stop to remain in effect forever
- Stop payments placed on ACH payments for business accounts will remain in effect for six months
- Recurring ACH payments may be stopped by the amount or the company name. Should you choose to stop payment by the amount, other items of the same amount may inadvertently be stopped as well. Should you choose to stop payment by the company or merchant name, the stop will be placed for all debits from that company or merchant
- Stop payments must be placed at least 3 business days before the scheduled clearing date of the item.
- To stop a DEBIT card transaction:
- Debit card transactions that have received a pre-authorization but have not cleared your account cannot be stopped. In this instance, the merchant should be contacted asked to reverse the authorization. If the transaction is fraudulent or unauthorized by the cardholder, contact us immediately to shut off the card and issue a new one.
